The Original Cure Sleeve – 4x Sleeves
What are Cure Sleeves? and why?
Cure Sleeves are a step ahead and cost effective ways to properly cure your end product. Many growers spend hours if not days perfecting their crop, battling diseases, deficiency’s, bugs and other factors during the grow stages. Many people overlook the final step after all that hard work, this is where we come in with Cure Sleeves. These have been developed to take the guess work out of all of the “Damage” that can be done by environmental aspects during the cure process.
We have prototyped many designs, and solutions from Mylar Bags, Turkey Bag’s, EXPENSIVE metal curing devices to the best GLASS for curing. Time after time Glass ends up on the top of the list. No harmful BPA’s, No spending $100’s on a single device to achieve the same end goal. AMAZING FLOWER!
Ball announced the end of AMBER light blocking half gallon jars. So we set out to find a solution to fix this. Our product allows you to use a Ball Wide Mouth Mason Jar 64 oz (Half Gallon) and block out light, and keep the inside product safe from temperature swings.
Light
- Curing Process: After cannabis plants are harvested, the buds undergo a curing process to improve flavor, aroma, and potency while reducing moisture content. Curing involves drying the buds slowly in a controlled environment with the right temperature, humidity, and airflow. While light exposure can degrade cannabinoids and terpenes, it’s generally recommended to cure cannabis in a dark or low-light environment to preserve the quality of the final product.
- Overall, light has a substantial influence on cannabis cultivation and can affect the development of cannabinoids and terpenes, which contribute to the plant’s therapeutic properties. However, the specific light requirements and their impact on curing can vary depending on factors such as strain genetics, cultivation techniques, and environmental conditions.
Temperature
Temperature is a critical factor in the curing process of cannabis as it can influence the rate of moisture removal, preservation of cannabinoids and terpenes, and overall quality of the final product. Here’s how temperature can affect the curing process:
- Moisture Removal: Proper curing involves drying the cannabis buds gradually to reduce their moisture content. Temperature plays a crucial role in this process. If the temperature is too high, the buds may dry too quickly, resulting in uneven moisture removal and potential loss of flavor, aroma, and potency. On the other hand, if the temperature is too low, drying may take too long, increasing the risk of mold or mildew formation.
- Preservation of Cannabinoids and Terpenes: Cannabis contains a variety of cannabinoids and terpenes that contribute to its medicinal properties and aroma. The curing process aims to preserve these compounds. Temperature control is essential to prevent excessive degradation of cannabinoids and terpenes. High temperatures can accelerate the degradation process, leading to a decrease in potency and aromatic qualities. Lower temperatures can help preserve these compounds, maintaining the overall quality of the cured buds.
- Enzymatic Processes: Curing involves enzymatic processes within the cannabis plant material. The enzymes break down certain compounds, such as chlorophyll, which can contribute to a harsh taste and cause the buds to burn poorly. Temperature influences the activity of these enzymes. Moderate temperatures within the range of 60-70°F (15-21°C) are commonly recommended for curing, as they allow enzymatic processes to occur without excessive degradation of desirable compounds.
- Mold and Mildew Prevention: Proper temperature control during the curing process is crucial for preventing the growth of mold and mildew. Higher temperatures, especially when combined with high humidity levels, create a favorable environment for mold and mildew development, which can ruin the entire batch of cannabis. Maintaining the temperature within a suitable range and ensuring proper airflow can help mitigate the risk of mold or mildew contamination.
It’s important to note that different sources may suggest slightly varied temperature ranges and durations for optimal curing. Factors such as strain genetics, bud density, and personal preferences can also influence the ideal curing conditions. Therefore, it’s often recommended to experiment and find the temperature and duration that works best for the specific cannabis strain and desired qualities.
Proper temperature control, along with other parameters like humidity, airflow, and light exposure, is essential for achieving a high-quality, flavorful, and potent end product during the curing process.
